PLEASE NOTE: there are some windy roads leading into Julian. If you are prone to car sickness and leaving from the San Diego area, we recommend you avoid taking the I-8 to the 79 (this route is particularly windy).
Travel from San Diego takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes (without traffic) and includes traveling along roads with no cellular service (Camp Stevens does have cell service). We recommend you download your Google Maps or Apple Maps route beforehand to avoid any GPS errors.
Camp Stevens is a remote and rustic experience and Julian is a small and lovely town. We recommend you do any necessary shopping before arriving in Julian.
